Greig William Steiner, born August
9th, 1934, Los Angeles, California,
Grew up in Baldwin Park, Calif., except for an extended trip to Colorado at
age 5 to live with grandparents, mother's family, in Cripple Creek,
for winter of 1939-40, then with paternal grandparents in
Englewood, Colo. in summer 1940.
Was put on the
Los Angeles Flyer, alone, aged 6, for the two day trip back to Los
Angeles with nothing but a paper sack with some fried chicken pieces and a
smile.

THEATER
Performed as a
dancer from 1941 to 1988 throughout California as a regular with the
American Red Cross (A.R.C.) Hospital and Camp shows. Also with U.S.O. local
and touring shows, U.S. Army Special Services shows in tours of U.S. Camps
and Hospitals and in Korea Camps, Hospitals, Service Clubs and troop ships
on the Pacific Ocean.
Awarded
lifetime membership by A.R.C. at completion of over 2,000 performances in
hospital
Awarded certificate for services to The City Of Hope, California
Various citations from Military installations for service to troops.

Greig started designing when
he was four years old. Starting with fashion design, he cut and sewed
costumes. At age 5, while living with his grandmother in Cripple Creek
Colorado, she taught him to sew on her Singer treadle machine, speeding up
the process considerably. He and classmate Shirley Brain, also a
designer, began a successful dress design business in their Junior year in
High School. They continued it until they split ways to go to
different college situations.
He also began designing for
parties and dances for his High School in his freshman year and continues
designing with several major fund raiser Balls and other events today.
